Mangrove Garden

Bean Buro designed a 54,000 sq ft contemporary workspace for a global financial firm in Hong Kong, across three stores. The design integrates natural elements with a human centric approach, emphasizing wellbeing and hospitality. Each level features a hub akin to a mangrove garden that fosters social interaction. Art installations boost engagement and reflect local culture. Bespoke lighting and dynamic colors create an immersive, cohesive space. Sustainable practices are central, and the design successfully merges the client’s brand essence with modern aesthetics, setting new benchmarks.

Ferrying

The contrast between tradition and modernity makes this bookstore attractive. The first floor uses the traditional water town block as the logic of spatial organization: the river connects the space of books, commodities, and salon, including small bridges, houses, miniature squares, Chinese octagonal pavilions, ferry crossings, and mythical beasts Qilin. But, the second floor is composed of contemporary technological elements such as parametric subway trains, AR experience, and modern tea drinks.

This interior concept integrates Geneus DNA’s personalized genetic services with GATTA Café, reflecting innovation and a healthy lifestyle. "GATTA" comes from the four DNA bases—A, C, G, T—symbolizing personalized health. The design adapts and merges functions dynamically, aligning with the brand’s focus on precision. Minimalist lines, clean details, and a futuristic palette embody the brand’s ethos, connecting science with lifestyle. Despite facing many challenges, the project was successfully completed and became a stunning success

Typically concealed structural elements become aesthetic focal points, emphasizing material strength and texture. Barcode and QR code motifs extend across the space, reinforcing the company's identity. Lighting highlights these patterns, creating a dynamic interplay between recycled steel, technology, and light. The design showcases the potential of repurposed materials while reflecting the fusion of industrial heritage and modern innovation.

Rinn Kyoto Miyagawasuji Hitotose Aki

The hotel faces Miyagawa-suji, a street that retains the traditional beauty of Kyoto. The designer devised a lighting plan that invites guests inside while preserving the Japanese concept of incorporating the outside within and the atmosphere of Junichiro Tanizaki's book "In Praise of Shadows". Furthermore, as part of the hospitality, the design also incorporates a range of activities and local materials to ensure guests can spend long periods of time in comfort.
